Faculty Spotlight

Ramez N Abdalla, MD, PhD

Ramez N Abdalla, MD, PhD

Dr. Abdalla is the newest member of the Interventional Neuroradiology Section, joining Drs. Ansari, Shaibani and Cantrell. He finished med school, radiology residency, and fellowship in Egypt and was practicing as an IR and Neuro IR attending there. He repeated his training at Northwestern where he did a research year, and clinical diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology fellowships. His research focuses on techniques and outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke treatment, as well as the clinical utility of advanced diagnostic imaging modalities in the diagnosis and risk stratification of cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Abdalla also performs percutaneous spine procedures and has helped in adopting new treatment techniques in vertebral augmentation at Northwestern.

Madhvi Del, MD

Madhvi Deol, MD

Madhvi Deol is an Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Division of Body Imaging at Northwestern University. She completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a clinical fellowship in abdominal imaging at UCLA. Her clinical interests lay at the intersection of medical imaging and abdominopelvic disease, with particular interest in female gynecologic imaging. Dr. Deol is additionally involved in various initiatives related to quality improvement and wellness. She is currently participating in the Scholars of Wellness program and co-leads the departmental wellness committee.

B Zh, PhD

Bo Zhou, PhD

Dr. Zhou received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University with the highest PhD honor of the Harding Bliss Prize. He also holds a Master's in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. His research mainly focuses on AI for multi-modal medical imaging, especially in PET, SPECT, MRI, and CT.
